Approved Software List

All software requests are reviewed by our team for security, compatibility, and licensing before installation on a managed device. To speed up common requests, we maintain a list of pre-approved applications that do not require a full review.

This article lists the applications that are pre-approved, explains how the request and approval workflow works for software not on the list, and outlines what software will not be approved.

Approved Applications

The following applications are pre-approved for installation on managed devices:

  • Adobe Acrobat
  • Adobe Reader
  • Airtame
  • Google Chrome
  • Microsoft Edge
  • Microsoft Office (all apps)
  • Microsoft Teams
  • VPN Software (if applicable)
  • Pre-approved means our team has already reviewed the application for security and compatibility. Once your request is received, we'll pre-approve the installation on your computer so you can install it yourself. If you need help with the installation, an IT support ticket can be opened and a technician will assist.

    Requesting Software Not on the Approved List

    Any software not listed above requires IT review and approval before it can be installed.

    1. Submit a software request via https://theitexperience.com/supportrequest
    2. Provide a clear business justification and manager approval on the form
    3. Our team will review the request for security, compatibility, and licensing
    4. Once approved, we will pre-approve the installation on your computer and notify you
    5. Install the application — or open a support ticket if you need a technician to assist
    Software review and installation may take up to 2 business days, dependent on licensing approval and procurement.

    Licensing & Cost

    License costs (if applicable) will be billed back to your business unit. This includes:

  • Per-seat subscriptions (e.g., Adobe Acrobat Pro, specialty line-of-business applications)
  • One-time license purchases
  • Renewal costs for any subscription-based software procured on your behalf
  • If you already own a license for the software you're requesting, please note that in your request and provide the license key or proof of purchase. We can use your existing license rather than procuring a new one.


    Non-Business Software

    All software requesting to be installed must be for business use.

    Software requests for non-business software will be rejected unless explicitly approved by a member of leadership at your organization. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Games and entertainment applications
  • File transfer applications (peer-to-peer, torrent clients, etc.)
  • Third-party online storage services not sanctioned by your organization (e.g., personal Dropbox, personal Google Drive, personal OneDrive accounts)
  • Any other software that does not have a clear business purpose
If you believe a non-business application is necessary for your role, include written approval from a member of leadership in the Additional Notes field of your request. Requests submitted without leadership approval will be denied or delayed.

Need Help Installing?

If an application has been pre-approved (either because it's on the approved list or because your request was reviewed and approved) and you need help installing it, submit a support request and note that the installation has been pre-approved. A technician will connect remotely to complete the installation.
