VPN - Accessing Network Resources

Once your VPN account has been provisioned and the VPN client installed on your laptop/desktop, you will be able to access network resources/shares while out of the office.

If you do not have a VPN account provisioned or do not have the VPN client installed on your computer, you will be required to submit a service request.

Frequently Asked Questions

I'm working remotely and I'm not able to access my network shares.

First, confirm your VPN client is installed and "Powered On." Instructions on how to "Power On" your VPN client can be found in our VPN troubleshooting guide.

I have the VPN client installed and confirmed it's powered on. I'm still unable to access my mapped drives.

Once your VPN account is provisioned, a "Network Access" shortcut will be placed on your desktop that provides access to all network shares within your company. If your mapped network drives are not able to connect or are missing completely, use the "Network Access" shortcut. If you do not have this shortcut, please submit a support request.

Why are my mapped drives missing?

In some instances, mapped drives may not properly reconnect and authenticate while connected to VPN. This can be caused by a multitude of issues ranging from your home or public network configuration to poor network performance. All VPN users will have a "Network Access" shortcut placed on their desktop.

I'm being prompted to enter a username and/or password.

This credential prompt is by design to validate your connection. These credential prompts may occur intermittently to ensure your connection remains secure. In some instances you may be required to enter in your company name\username (e.g., companyname\AUser) if your username alone is not accepted.

I don't know my username or password.

  • Your username is normally the first letter of your first name and your full last name excluding any special characters.
  • Your remote access (VPN) password is the same password you use to login to your computer.
  • I have no internet and I can't connect to VPN.

  • VPN requires a valid and active internet connection to work.
  • Hardwired connections will provide the best connectivity experience, however connectivity via a wireless connection will also work.
  • Mobile Hotspots (Cell Phone/Jetpack) or Public WiFi connections (Hotels, restaurants) may work, however they are not supported.
