Duplicate/Dual Monitor Setup & Troubleshooting

All laptops and desktops provided by The I.T. Experience have the capability of supporting up to 2 monitors. When configuring dual monitors, there are a few procedures to follow to ensure the monitor is detected and displays the content you want.

Setting Up a Second Monitor

  1. Connect the external monitor to your computer using the appropriate cable (HDMI, DisplayPort, USB-C, or VGA)
  2. Right-click on your desktop and select "Display settings"
  3. Scroll down to "Multiple displays"
  4. Select one of the following options:
    • Duplicate these displays — Shows the same content on both screens
    • Extend these displays — Uses both monitors as one large workspace (recommended)
    • Show only on 1/2 — Only uses one of the displays
