Where Are My Mapped Drives?

Mapped drives (your shared network folders, such as an "S:" or "Z:" drive) can be located in your File Explorer. There are a few ways to find them:

Option 1: From the Taskbar

  1. Locate and click the "File Explorer" icon on your taskbar
  2. Once selected, click on "This PC" in the left-hand menu
  3. Your mapped drives will be in this window under "Network Locations"

Option 2: From the Start Menu

  1. Click the "Start" button and search for "This PC"
  2. Click on the "This PC" icon or select "Open" on the right-hand side menu
  3. Your mapped drives will be in this window under "Network Locations"

Option 3: The "Network Shares" Folder on Your Desktop

In some environments, we place a folder directly on your desktop — named "Network Shares" or "Network Access" — with shortcuts to all of your company's network shares for easier access.

  1. Look on your desktop for a folder named "Network Shares" or "Network Access"
  2. Double-click the folder to open it
  3. Double-click the shortcut for the share you need — it opens just like a mapped drive
